Why did we create this Gym and what are the Benefits?
Our Child Life Specialist advisors first voiced the need for a more versatile in-crib gym-like toy that could be safely used in a crib or play yard to provide hours of fun for babies while stimulating brain, muscle, sensory and coordination development.
Sensory Stimulation is important because a baby's brain is rapidly developing during their first months with literally millions of neural connections emerging every second. Visual, auditory and other sensory stimulation impact how these neural connections form and play a critical role in cognitive development. Stimulation literally helps to build the brain and its neural pathways. If these neural connections are not developed, they disappear and no longer become available to the developing brain.
The Nurture Smart™ Baby Play Gym incorporates a unique set of thoughtfully designed colorful cause and effect toys to promote visual and auditory stimulation. Toy heights can be adjusted using the links provided to match the baby's developing visual range. Several of the toys also make sounds when moved to provide both auditory and visual stimulation, motivating the baby to keep reaching and grasping for the toys.
Muscle and Coordination Development: The unique multi-colored cause-and-effect toys come in a variety of shapes designed to motivate 2–5 month old babies to reach for, grasp, and explore the toys. These activities promote development of minor and major motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination. Because the toys provide auditory or visual response when touched, they help the baby to learn and understand cause and effect relationships.
Safety: The Nurture Smart™ Baby Play Gym was designed to meet the rigors of hospitals’ safety and infection control standards. Sized to fit snugly in a crib or play yard with 4 legs and custom feet for optimum stability, it is easy to assemble, fold or disassemble for compact storage. Just snap the legs in and arrange the toys interchangeably as you wish. Durable, yet light-weight construction using phthalate-free engineered polymer compounds.

Assembly
No tools or fasteners required. Assembly by an adult is recommended. The legs snap into the frame sockets at the ends of the arches with a simple push until each leg clicks into place. Make sure that each of the four legs are fully inserted into the arches before use with a baby. Loop the attachment links to the frame and the toys to the links.
The Play Gym unfolds by pulling the arches into the open position.
Re-arrange and adjust the heights to accommodate your baby’s preferences. Toys and links can be removed for individual play and/or cleaning.
Maintenance
Ensure legs are securely fastened to frame. Inspect links and toys for cleanliness and breakage before each use. Wipe clean with disinfecting wipes or clean in the sink with dish soap and water as needed.
